Kia ora e te whānau — hello to all of you, my family and friends.

To honor Llew's life and traditions, we're hosting a gathering on his birthday weekend at Manning Park Resort in British Columbia. The Vermillions have generously booked The Last Resort Lodge, and we have the whole place to ourselves.

We'll be barbecuing brisket — smoking it if we can manage, of course — playing games, and swapping stories. This is likely to be casual and not run on a particular schedule. Come for a few hours or stay all the days, whatever works for you.

On space — good news Some have worried about room. There's plenty. Thirteen bedrooms across three floors, so there should be options to find the bed or the privacy you need. If you'd still prefer more space, there are nearby cabins bookable through the resort.

Crossing into Canada Everyone needs a valid passport — if yours has lapsed, start now, renewals take a while. Dogs need to be rabies vaccinated and microchipped to cross.
